Everyone loves Poppies! Especially if you’re desperately running through them trying to get to the Emerald City! These are my Emerald City Poppies, the first of many poppies and flowers I continue to paint. There is an ever so slight sinister aspect to these Poppies, like they might dissolve into nothingness before your very eyes!
That’s the fun, right?
Actually they almost did dissolve into nothingness. When painting the original, I was painting in the early AM hours, still not having accomplished what I set out to paint. I was so frustrated, I ALMOST scraped the canvas! In fact you can see that one of the flowers is very much scraped. Fortunately that little voice of reason prevailed inside my head and told me to just go to bed, and since I’ve been in that place many times at this point in my life, that’s exactly what I did.
So then I woke up to find this AMAZING piece of art, and I thanked the heavens that I didn’t listen to my frustrated, sleep deprived self! Joke’s on me, I guess.
This Glicee print is printed on lovely, thick, acid free paper that feels much like water color paper. It absorbs the ink colors in such a way that the print takes on a life of its own. Soft, yet stark, vibrant and bold, the paper and ink makes the print!
All of my Glicee prints are signed, numbered and carefully packaged. All prints are 350DPI printed with Archival Ink and Acid Free Paper.
