Fluid Acrylic on Acrylic Solid Surface with Resin
Painted in 2022
Revolution was really not what I was intending to paint that day. After two months of not painting anything at all, I was really planning on painting another flower, or pine cone or something. But, as with anything at all, if you see it materialize in your mind on the canvas in front of your eyes, you've just gotta go for it! And I'm glad I did because I really like this painting. The truth is that when we read about the Crucifixion in the Bible we often think about it in terms of what went on down here, on earth. Yes, that was a pretty horrific sight. But what went on in heaven is quite different, the crucifixion was heaven's greatest victory, and heaven now bleeds into earth. That's what this painting is about.
Painted in many contrasting hues, this original painting is a great example of using a common paint pour/fluid acrylic technique where you swipe large swaths of paint up or down a canvas. I employed this technique to tell the story and then added the scene on top of the swipe.
Painted on Acrylic Solid surface with a resin coating. It has a rear backing so that it is not necessary to frame. When hung this painting sits about 1/2" out from the wall.
Prints are available in all sizes.
