I love this painting! I want to make more. This painting was based on Genesis 1:1, the first book in the Christian Bible and Jewish Torah.
‘In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.’ Gen 1:1
The word for ‘hovering’ comes from a bird known in the region, a dove in fact. Evidently this bird can hover in mid-air, staying basically in the same place a little like a hummingbird does here in North America!
If you look closely at the painting, you may just have a shapeshifting experience, because, while you can look at it one way and see a bird’s beak, if you look another way it turns into a face looking down, with a crown of thorns.
At least that’s what I see! I’m not sure anyone else can see it, you’ll have to let me know!
This Glicee print is printed on lovely, thick, acid free paper that feels much like water color paper. It absorbs the ink colors in such a way that the print takes on a life of its own. Soft, yet stark, vibrant and bold, the paper and ink makes the print!
All of my Glicee prints are signed, numbered and carefully packaged. All prints are 350DPI printed with Archival Ink and Acid Free Paper.
