Taking Flight is a piece about the quiet persistence of hope.

Taking Flight marries blues, yellows, golds and browns. The color selection integrates the main colors you see on the Palouse (my home) during Indian summer (late August) when the days are long, hot, and farmers are harvesting wheat and barley, the bare soil peaks out in places, only to be met by a fierce blue sky and blazing white sun.

Painted on an Acrylic Solid Surface base and finished with resin. Painted with fluid Acrylic paint and artist knives. Rear frame, ready to hang and be loved. This piece would be best in a large area, it will command the room with its somewhat muted, peaceful presence.
